About us
SADS UK is a cardiac charity aiming to prevent sudden cardiac death in apparently fit and healthy people. Our aim is to save lives by providing equipment to detect cardiac conditions and defibrillators to schools and in the community so that should a cardiac arrest emergency happen, lifesaving equipment is immediately available.
SADS UK provides information and support to people who have suffered a cardiac arrest and their families. We also support individuals living with life threatening cardiac conditions and support people who have been bereaved through a sudden and unexpected cardiac death. In order to help prevent such tragedies SADS UK funds research into SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome) to better understand, identify and treat the complex conditions that can cause sudden death. Supporting research and providing support to people impacted by a potentially life-threatening cardiac condition or a sudden and unexpected cardiac death is a very important part of the work of the charity.
The sudden death of a child, young person or healthy adult is traumatic and devastating. It is so often the case that vibrant young people are taken away so suddenly by SADS
