My Story

Hello and welcome to my sponsorship page for the 2024 Ford RideLondon-Essex 100!

My name is Richard and I am currently raising money for St John Ambulance, supporting the amazing work they do in your local community.

Why am I fundraising?

I currently volunteer with St. John Ambulance, London Region as a Nurse. St. John has been a major part of my life from being a Cadet to present day as District Clinical Lead for East London it has given me number of opportunities and focussed my choice of career.  I would like to help my community and country by fundraising for St John Ambulance, by supporting them and helping them continue the fantastic work they do.

Why St John Ambulance?

St John Ambulance are the UK's leading first aid charity. They teach general first aid to adults and children, but also specialise in many other types of first aid, such as mental health first aid, baby first aid and sports first aid. St John Ambulance provides first aid at events nationally such as Wimbledon, Notting Hill, London Marathon and Ride London as well as many local events in your community. They have also been named as England’s ambulance auxiliary supporting NHS Ambulance Trusts at times of increased pressure and national emergency.

What I will be doing?

I will be taking part in the Ford RideLondon-Essex 100 mile cycle ride from central London to Blake End in Essex

How can your money help the charity?

Your money can benefit the charity in so many ways. In short, any money you donate will help the charity. This could be buying new equipment, training new volunteers or making sure that more people know first aid. Here are just a few examples of how your money can help the charity:

▶£6 will buy 100 first aid pocket guides

▶£10 will mean that volunteers are kitted out with the correct safety equipment

▶£15 will keep and ambulance on the road in the community for a day

▶£20 will pay for half an hour of first aid training (enough to dress a wound)

▶£40 will provide more ambulance/first aid crews across the community.
