My Story

Olivier Stockman and Sands Films Studio

Stem4 supports teenagers and young adults with mental health issues, providing early intervention and prevention strategies. These skills are typically not taught in school and aren't the kind of thing that young people find and share on social media. That means there is a huge gap in their ability to deal with the challenges they are faced with - some are similar to the ones we were faced with but many are new that require greater resilience and a bigger mental toolkit.

I'm aiming to raise £700.00 (at least, hopefully more, but that is up to you all!) through offering a couple of film screenings at the Cinema Club at Sands Films Studio.

The first film is the great 1948 Italian neorealist classic "Bicycle Thieves". This film is well known, but not everyone has seen it: it is a masterpiece and it is a good example of the importance of bikes for the working class. So, come watch it at Sands Films Cinema on Tuesday 16th May:   CLICK HERE TO GET A SEAT

The second film is "One Day Ahead" from New Zealand: 8 men (much like me: middle aged men in lycra) who in 2018 decided to raise money for a charity (much like Stem4) by cycling the route of the Tour de France one day ahead of the race.  Their adventures and emotions will illustrate what my single day 100 miles challenge is likely to be.... So, come watch it at Sands Films Cinema on Tuesday 23rd May:   CLICK HERE TO GET A SEAT

Of course you are all wellcome to support me and Stem4 even if you cannot attend the screenings!
