My Story
Hi everyone,
I am going to be taking on the challenge of the 2023 RideLondon-Essex 100 mile race in support of St Giles Trust and need your help! This race starts in Central London, then weaves through Essex before heading back to Central London and finishing on Tower Bridge! This will be my first century ride but hopefully not the last!
The Charity: St Giles Trust (https://www.stgilestrust.org.uk/)
St Giles Trust is a charity that helps people facing disadvantages such as:
- Homelessness,
- Long-term unemployment,
- An offending background,
- Addiction,
- Severe poverty,
- Involvement in gangs,
- And more.
The above issues are very real and can affect anyone at any point in their lifetime, so I hope you can spare some of your hard-earned cash to go towards not only my endurance in this challenge but in support of this great cause and to help change people’s lives.
How Can Your Contribution Help?
- £20 - Could provide a family struggling to make ends meet access to a weekly shop of healthy, nutritious food at the St Giles Pantry.
- £50 - Could provide emergency support and a safe place to stay for a woman leaving prison who has experienced abuse.
- £100 - Could help five families who are struggling to afford the essentials by providing them with food and support.
All of your contributions will go toward helping to break the cycle of poverty.
How Will I Prepare for this Challenge?
I will be following a 12 week training plan consisting of regular workouts, spinning, and endurance road cycles to help prepare me for this race, therefore this is not just a 1 day event you are sponsoring. I have also joined a local cycling club to help with my endurance training. I will be posting updates on the fundraising page to keep all contributors up to date of my training progression.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page and wish me luck!
