My Story

I am delighted to participate in the 2023 Ride London Essex ride, representing and fundraising for Blood Cancer UK again.

I have been a fundraiser for Blood Cancer UK since my initial diagnosis and treatment for Hairy Cell Leukaemia in 2017, participating in this event last year, and pre-pandemic years.  I've also fundraised by participating in running events.

In July 2022, my bloods indicated a potenial relapse of Hairy Cell Leukaemia, confirmed later by biopsy.  I signed up and confirmed participation in this event at same time my treatment plan was being devised.  Initially, my treatment was to end the same week as the ride! However, I find out later this week, if after 6 cycles of chemo, I need more or not!

You can read more information on my blog about my treatment and participation in these events.. and many (ok, some) other topics!

I've not been out on the bike in months - limited to indoor training on Zwift. I will post regular updates below.

If you could spare the price of a coffee / tea / pint or more, I would be most grateful.

Thank you
