My Story
I have been applying for a place on Ride London 100 for at least the past 7 years and have FINALLY manged to get a slot! As most of you know I am obsessed with cycling and wouldn’t normally raise money for a ride like this but last year Louisa started working at a charity called 'The Strode Park Foundation' and it seemed like fate that I secured a place at the same time as Louisa started at Strode park.
The Strode Park Foundation, a fantastic charity which provides vital care, support services, care at home and supported living opportunities for, children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities across Kent. Strode Park is family centred charity with a strong sense of community who have been caring for people living with disabilities since 1946, they currently have homes in Herne, Canterbury, Faversham and Rainham.
They aim to meet all levels of need; from those requiring a small amount of home care to maintain their independence, to supporting individuals with more complex disabilities requiring neuro rehabilitation or 24 hour nursing residential care.
I have had the opportunity to meet some of Strode Parks residents and volunteer at events run by the charity and have been inspired by the independence, wellbeing and choice Strode Park advocate for on behalf of their clients, this gives people throughout their care services the opportunity to live life the way they choose. Your sponsorship would help provide vital funds for the children, adults and young people living with disabilities they care for and make an immeasurable difference to their lives.
Thank you for your support, Dan
