My Story

On Sunday 28 May I took part in the RideLondon- Essex 2023 sportive for our firm charity CRASH (the construction industry charity that helps homelessness charities and hospices with vital construction projects).

The 102.7 mile ride was the longest bike ride I had completed since undergoing spinal surgery in July 2021 and 10 years since I took part in the first RideLondon sportive in 2013.

Despite not managing to train as much as I would have liked, an injury I picked up and not knowing whether my back would be up to the distance, I am pleased to say that I managed to complete the course in 5 hours 24 minutes, beating my personal best over 100 miles by 28 minutes.

I was pleased to take part for CRASH and to support the wonderful work they do with homelessness and hospice charities.  Now that I know that I was actually able to complete the challenge (which I wasn't sure I would be able to), I would be delighted if you could spare anything by way of a donation, no matter how small.

Nathan.
